Your exports

Exports reflect the settings used in the last run. Changing a setting does not change an existing export.

THREE SMALL STEPS

How to compress an image to a target size

  1. 01

    Add your images

Select up to 10 still JPEG, PNG or WebP files. Each one is compressed separately, in your browser.

  2. 02

    Set a maximum size

Enter a limit in KB, or use 100, 200 or 500 KB, then choose JPEG or WebP for the exports.

  3. 03

    Review the result

Each export shows its exact size and whether it meets your limit. Compare it with the original before you download.

BEFORE YOU START

Good to know

How the limit is met

The compressor tests quality levels between 95% and 10% and keeps the highest quality it finds under your limit.

When the limit is too small

If even the lowest quality is too heavy, the export is marked Above target. Allow smaller dimensions and the image is scaled down step by step to fit.

Units

1 KB = 1,000 bytes. Your limit is a maximum, not an exact size, and the exact number of bytes is shown for every export.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress an image to 200 KB online?

Add your image, choose JPEG or WebP, select a target file size of 200 KB and start compression. Check the exported size before saving. If the result is still above 200 KB, allow smaller dimensions or choose a larger limit. The image stays in your browser.

Can I compress an image to exactly 200 KB?

The compressor looks for the best quality under 200 KB, so the export is usually a little smaller. A size limit is a maximum, not an exact target.

Why is my export larger than the original?

If the original is already small and well compressed, a new export at high quality can weigh more while still meeting your limit. In that case, keep the original.

Can I compress PNG files?

Yes, by exporting them as JPEG or WebP. PNG has no quality setting to aim for a file size. WebP keeps transparent areas; JPEG fills them with your background color.

Will compression reduce quality?

Smaller files usually keep less detail. Very small limits, or smaller dimensions, can make the difference visible. Use the comparison view to check edges and text before you download.
