How to convert images to JPEG, PNG or WebP
-
01
Add your images
Select up to 10 still JPEG, PNG or WebP files. Animated images are rejected rather than silently flattened.
-
02
Choose a format
Pick JPEG, PNG or WebP. Set the quality for JPEG and WebP, and a background color for transparent areas when you export JPEG.
-
03
Download the new files
The converter checks that your browser really produced the selected format. Download each file, or all of them as a ZIP.
Good to know
Transparency
PNG and WebP keep transparent areas. JPEG cannot, so they are filled with your background color, white by default.
Supported files
Still JPEG, PNG and WebP images. GIF, HEIC, SVG and AVIF files are not supported.
Browser support
Some browsers, such as Safari, cannot create WebP files. The WebP option is then unavailable and JPEG is selected instead.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert several PNG files to JPG at once?
Yes. Add up to 10 still images, choose JPEG and select a background for transparent areas. Export the batch and download it as a ZIP. Keep the PNG originals if you will need transparency later.
Which format should I choose?
JPEG suits photographs. PNG suits graphics that need transparency or crisp edges. WebP often makes smaller files and keeps transparency, as long as the site receiving your images accepts it.
Does converting improve image quality?
No. Converting cannot restore detail that the original lacks. Converting again between lossy formats such as JPEG and WebP can remove a little more, so keep your originals.
Is image metadata kept?
No. Exports are new files created from the image pixels, so camera details and location data from the original are not copied. The photo’s orientation is applied first.
Why is my PNG export larger than the original?
PNG is lossless. A photograph saved as PNG usually weighs more than the same image saved as JPEG or WebP.
